Unionist Threatened Site War, Court Told

AN ORGANISER for the construction union had blackmailed and threatened employers, contractors and a safety official - partly with encouragement from a powerful union boss, a court has heard. Andrew Quirk, an organiser for the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, allegedly demanded $3000 from a contractor and threatened "war" when he was paid only $1500.
